Part 3 of 3.
In this workshop, the bokashi food waste and bokashi FPE (fermented plant extract, also "EM FPE") that were made in Part 2 (July 19) will be ready to use. We will apply them to the soil, as well as apply the EM•5 that was made in Part 1 (June 21).
We will use the bokashi food waste (fermented food waste) in 3 ways:
- Trenched/buried in a row in a garden bed (plants removed to grow new plantings/transplants).
- Pocket buried, in small pockets about 1 foot deep in garden beds with plants.
- Sandwiched between soil in pots/planters.
We will use the bokashi FPE, the liquid part to water around plants, and the solid part as a sub-mulch (that is, spread on top of soil, and then covered with mulch that's either plant clippings, leaves, or wood chip mulch.
We will use the EM•5 as a foliar spray and to water the soil.
