Workshop on Bokashi & Gardening 6/21/2025 Sat 11-2pm ESB Part 1

Part 1 of 3. 

An intro to the basics of bokashi gardening and soil care (towards creating a living soil). 
Learn the two main ways to make the basic bokashi ferments: 

1. bokashi sprinkle (made with wheat bran - aka bokashi bran)
2. bokashi spray (a liquid bokashi ferment - aka Activated EM) 

We will also make EM•5 foliar spray which is used to spray on plants and trees, as well as treat the soil. 

In Part 2 (July 19), the two bokashi ferments (bokashi sprinkle and bokashi spray) will be ready to use. We will use them as follow: 

• To treat food waste to make bokashi food waste
• To make bokashi FPE (Fermented Plant Extract - aka "EM FPE")
• To amend soil directly

In Part 3 (August 2), the bokashi food waste (fermented food waste) and EM FPE will be ready to use. We will apply them to the soil, as well as apply the EM•5 made in part 1.
