LUNGS Spring Awakening 2025

CANCELED—Bokashi Tabling at the LUNGS Spring Awakening Street Event 4/26/2025 Sat 1–4pm

Rescheduled to Saturday May 10, 2025—However, the bokashi tabling will not take place.

The LUNGS (Loisaida United Neighborhood Gardens) Spring Awakening begins with a parade (12 pm – 1 pm) that starts from one community garden (El Sol Brillante) and goes by other community gardens in the neighborhood.

Compost Carnival

Bokashi Tabling at the Compost Carnival

The 4th Annual Compost Carnival is a free, family-friendly event to celebrate and educate about one of the biggest sustainability initiatives to ever come to NYC: Citywide Curbside Organics Collection. 

A bokashi tabling will be there providing information with sample demonstration items and someone to explain the bokashi method.

Bokashi Tabling at the LUNGS Spring Awakening Street Event

on Avenue B and 9th Street 

The LUNGS (Loisaida United Neighborhood Gardens) Spring Awakening begins with a parade (12 pm – 1 pm) that starts from one community garden (El Sol Brillante) and goes by other community gardens in the neighborhood. 

From 1 pm until 4 pm, there are several events happening on Avenue B (around 8th and 9th Streets) and in the community gardens in the area. 

A bokashi tabling will be there providing information and someone to explain the bokashi method.
