Part 1 of 3.
An intro to the basics of bokashi gardening and soil care (towards creating a living soil). Learn the two main ways to make the basic bokashi ferments: the bokashi sprinkle with wheat bran and the bokashi spray (a liquid bokashi ferment). We will also make EM•5 foliar spray which is used to spray on plants and trees, as well as treat the soil.
In Part 2 (June 28), the two bokashi ferments (bokashi sprinkle and bokashi spray) will be ready to use. We will use them as follow:
- To compost plant clippings and branches
- To amend soil
- To make EM FPE (Fermented Plant Extract)
- To treat food waste to make bokashi food waste
In Part 3 (July 12), the bokashi food waste (fermented food waste) and EM FPE will be ready to use. We will apply them to the soil, as well as apply the EM•5 made in part 1.
